Once you have made your favorite batch of salsa, you can easily store it in jars. Most store-bought varieties can be stored in a plastic container for up to three months, but larger batches can take up to two years.

However, you should always make sure that the jars are sealed tightly before freezing. Once the jars have been filled with salsa, they should rest for 12 to 24 hours before you can refreeze them. There are a few ways to store your salsa.

Common Ways to Store Salsa

First, you can place them in a colander to remove excess liquid. If the tomatoes are peeled, you can push them down a bit, which will remove some of the liquid. This will prevent the salsa from running. Second, you can place them in a jar and fill them with about half an inch of sauce. Afterward, put the lids on the jars.

Third, you can store your salsa in jars. When you want to save some for later, you can reprocess them. It’s a good idea to test the seal before using them. If you want to keep salsa for a longer time, you can freeze it. Remember to refrigerate it within a week of opening it. Instead, you should freeze it right away after preparing it. It will keep in the fridge for up to a year, and it will keep for a year in the freezer. You can also freeze the salsa in jars. To freeze, you should take the jars and put them into the freezer.

Freezing the Salsa

If you prefer not to store it in airtight containers, you can also freeze it. When you need salsa in a hurry, you can freeze it in airtight containers. When freezing, make sure that you use resealable freezer bags. It will last up to 4 months. It is best to refrigerate it once it has cooled completely.
