Welcome to the
November 2009

Quality, Choice and Aspiration, the long awaited national strategy was published in late October placing CEIAG and Connexions at centre stage – an IAG Guarantee and Entitlement to a personal tutor, high quality CEG, impartial IAG; WRL in year 10 and 11; careers education up to the age of 18 in line with RPA; piloting teaching about careers in primary school; business mentors; better online access to careers advice; updated training for guidance (and other) professionals. The strategy gives local authorities 18 months to show that they deliver excellent CEIAG, suggesting that otherwise it could be delivered by schools.

Worth noting, below is the Future Jobs Fund – with jobs immediately for young people aged 18 NEET.

Best wishes,
Chris Heaume

Chief Executive
