Happy New Year!
Welcome to the first CLC bulletin of 2009, full of even more opportunities for young people and those who support them. More good news for young people – while Not Known levels for England increased in 2008 by 12%, they decreased by 10% in London, while levels of young people NEET increased by 0.8% in England overall, they decreased by 11% in London. We now have 2100 young people NEET in Central London, the lowest ever, and the levels of young people in learning were 83% (78% for England).
Just a few of the things coming in 2009 are:
-
The next batch of Diplomas
-
Far more apprenticeships
-
The national apprenticeships matching service (see the Opportunities for young people section)
-
Fast-tracking to New Deal for young people NEET 3 months before their 18th birthday
-
LOIS morphing into Choice Jobs
-
National training for team leaders and managers
-
Foundation Diplomas for PAs
Well done, and have a great 2009! Best wishes, Chris Heaume, Chief Executive, CLC If you have any feedback on this e-bulletin please contact natasha.thompson-richards@rbkc.gov.uk
