Welcome to the
June 2010

Welcome to this month's bulletin – full of summer and progression opportunities for the young people you are supporting, and opportunities for your own professional development.

Following the election we are in a vacuum waiting for clarity of the policy direction. It is extremely reassuring to hear from the government that schools and post 16 funding will not be threatened in this round of activity, and in fact will get a boost. We’re looking forward to hearing how the pupil premium will support vulnerable young people. The converse side of a squeeze on funding is the gains to be made from working together locally and across boroughs – integrated youth support and CLC couldn’t be better placed.

While the Activity Agreement will now finish 3 months early (31st December 2010) we are developing a plan to succeed it; the new PA-led courses aim to be sustainable without AAP funding – watch out for the calendar of dates for Fast Forward, Goals and Skills4U, and for a batch of new skills development courses in the pipeline.

Onwards and upwards!
Best wishes, Chris

Chief Executive
