Thank you for your feedback for the DCSF on the credit crunch impact. Some of it reported some glumness amongst you people. While it is understandable that young people’s enthusiasm for the future might be dampened by the credit crunch, in actual fact there are two positive responses:
We are seeing an increase in apprenticeships for some sectors and can anticipate even more given the huge energy and funding now going into this side of the offer. There has never been a better time to be studying to improve your chances in the job market – young people who get ready now for the economy to pick up in a year or two will be the best placed for opportunities then!
£8.25 million to give young people a voice - Beverley Hughes, Minister for Children and Young People, anounced a further £8 million, to give thousands more disadvantaged young people the opportunity to produce creative media.
